Overview
These notes consider the relationship between divine sovereignty and human significance, including such questions as:
- Do we live in a deterministic or fatalistic world?
- How can we deal with our past, our disappointments, and future anxiety?
- Who, if anyone, is in control?
- Does prayer matter?
- How can we be held accountable by God if he has decreed all things?
- If God is sovereign and we are participating with him in building his kingdom, what should we be doing with our time, talents, and resources?
- What is the relationship between prayer and God’s sovereignty?
- What is the relationship between evangelism and God’s sovereignty?
Relying on God’s self-disclosure as preserved in Scripture for our sure confidence, we soon discover that we can place our trust in him and live our lives in humble submission before him and his eternal plan. These ten sessions are saturated with God’s Word and offer commentary by some of the world’s greatest theologians.
